Has Priyanka Chopra ditched Shah Rukh Khan for Ekta Kapoor?
Priyanka Chopra, who is known to be very close to her Don co-star and Bollywood’s badshah Shah Rukh Khan, has been avoiding her good friend off late.
If reports are to be believed Priyanka Chopra has opted out of Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year and given dates for Ekta Kapoor’s Milan Talkies.
The actress, who is currently shooting for Gunday and Zanjeer remake, will begin shooting for Milan Talkies opposite Imran Khan in September. It was the same time Farah Khan directed movie was to begin shoot too.
Reports are that the makers of Happy New Year are now in search of a new face opposite SRK and Abhishek Bachchan.
Priyanka and SRK have in the past worked together in Don series. We hope to see them on screen together soon.
Ekta Kapoor (born 7 June 1975) is an Indian television producer, film producer and director, and the joint managing director and creative head of ‘Balaji Telefilms Limited’, which was founded in 1994. In 2001, Balaji Motion Pictures was launched as a subsidiary company of Balaji Telefilms Limited which is a film production and distribution company. She launched ALT Balaji in April 2017.
Kapoor was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2020.
Don, also known as Don: The Chase Begins Again, is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language neo noir action thriller film directed by Farhan Akhtar. The film was produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Akhtar’s production company Excel Entertainment. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, with Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani, Isha Koppikar, and Om Puri appearing in supporting roles. Don is a remake of the 1978 film of the same name, and follows the titular criminal’s look-alike who has been sent on a clandestine mission to impersonate Don after he is wounded in a chase, and to infiltrate the plans of the drug mafia.
Don 2 (also known as Don: The King Is Back) is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film co-written, co-produced and directed by Farhan Akhtar. It is the second installment in the Don series. Jointly produced by Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Om Puri, Boman Irani and Kunal Kapoor. A sequel to the 2006 film Don (2006), Don 2 takes place five years after the previous film when titular character (Khan) plans to take over the European drug cartel. Meanwhile, Roma (Chopra) has joined the Interpol to hunt him down.
