Priyanka Chopra on Deepika Padukone : We have several friends in common
In Bollywood, female actors generally make news for their catfights and rivalries. But of late, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra seem to have taken a completely different route by bonding like BFFs on several occasions. But Priyanka isn’t amused by the talks about their revelry.

“I bond with all my co-actors, especially the girls. I don’t have any issues with any of them. Deepika is a lovely person and we have known each other for years now, way before she became an actor. The reason is that we have a common circle of friends. So it’s (the news about their bonding) nothing new for us at all,” says Priyanka.

Interestingly, before Deepika bagged Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela, Priyanka’s name was doing the rounds. But such things seem to have no effect on their companionship. A few days ago, the two were seen spending some quality time with Ram Leela actor Ranveer Singh on the sidelines of a awards function.

A few days ago, Deepika had told HT Cafe, “Priyanka and I have always been very cordial and friendly with each other. Since not many have seen us bonding, they generally get surprised about it.” She’d added that the two have also been exchanging birthday wishes every year as well. “Priyanka wished me this year too,” she adds. Interestingly, during the shooting of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Anjaana Anjaani (2010), Deepika was dating Ranbir and there were rumours of Priyanka getting close to the Kapoor scion.

Priyanka would rather focus on her films (the Zanjeer remake, Gunday, Milan Talkies and the Mary Kom biopic) and her international album. Ask her how she juggles it all and she says, “I am a superwoman. But I love the fact that I am doing some amazing work in films as well as otherwise.”

Gunday
Gunday (transl. Outlaws) is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language gangster thriller film written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film features Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan in the lead roles. Set in 1971–1988 Calcutta, Gunday is a story about two best friends and outlaws, who fall in love with a cabaret dancer, which causes rivalry and misunderstandings between them.

Zafar conceived the film as an amalgam of stories he had heard from his father as a child about the effects of war-caused immigration and the Mafia Raj’s illegal marketing of coal. He wrote the film as a tale of the consequences of the struggle of two outlaws against the system, using his father’s stories as a backdrop for the characters. Principal photography began in Mumbai in December 2012 before moving to Kolkata, where extensive filming was done. The soundtrack was produced by Sohail Sen and the lyrics were penned by Irshad Kamil. It was the last Yash Raj Film narrated to Yash Chopra.
